A Whole Year We Have Been Waiting

"When the public sees what is in this bill...when we show them what the priorities are and what it's been boiled down to, what it means to them sitting around their kitchen table rather than us sitting around a table at Blair House, the response will be positive," Pelosi said.

I told myself that I would try to stick to one post a day, but who is reading this anyways?

"When the public sees what is in this bill”

On what planet does she live on?

The Democrats and the President campaigned on openness and transparency. Now a year later we still don’t know what is in the bill!!!! Are we supposed to wait until it is signed into law to find out? This just shows the arrogance that is rampant in the Senate and the House.

I love using analogies so here one goes. (Not a true story)

A father or mother decides to buy their child a pet kitten for Christmas. This is nice because the child has wanted a pet kitten for quite some time. So the parent goes to the local pet store, and with the help of the knowledgeable employees one is picked out. The parent is so excited because, due to financial constraints, he/she has not been able to get their child the pet that they have wanted for years. He/She gets home places it in a decorated box, with air holes of course, and summons the child to see the present they have brought. After many years of waiting the child, with a huge smile, opens the box only to find a skunk staring back at her.

Good intentions do not always deliver good results.

What would have been better? Taking the child to the store so they could pick out the kitten they want/like, or keeping it a secret until Christmas day only to find out that you were WAY off course.

"When the public sees what is in this bill”
Please……….

We HAVE been waiting to see what is in the bill. This has gone on for a YEAR now…

The time is now to place the cards on the table to see if you have a winner, loser or have just been bluffing this whole time????

Healthcare and Printers

"This bill does not control costs or reduce deficits. Instead, it adds a new health care entitlement when we have no idea how to pay for the entitlements we already have."

Rep Paul Ryan.

The current Senate bill has 10 years of tax increases making the true 10-year cost of $2.3 trillion dollars. This is much more that the proposed cap that the President has promised.

Now, What does this have to do with printers? Well, I just purchased a new printer for $40.00 and was happy with my purchase. Until I needed a new ink cartridge….. Come to find out they cost $50.00 to replace. So What is the true cost of my purchase??

The Senate bill takes $52 billion in Social Security tax revenues, $72 billion from the CLASS Act (long-term care insurance) and uses them to offset the cost of the bill.

Are we saying that we are not going to pay out the Social Security benefits? Are we robbing Peter to pay Paul? Or, is the real reason to collapse the Social Security Program in another effort to scrap it -OR- Dare I say, That we can not afford to continue to provide quality of life for Seniors. We will have no money left to provide for them through the Social Security Program, and they will only be a burden to the rest of the country.

Just a thought….(Death Panels)

The chief actuary of Medicare stated that as much as 20% of Medicare providers will possibly go out of business or stop seeing Medicare patients. So where are we going to find more Physicians willing to accept Medicare to provide for the elderly? Are we going to make them wait months for treatment only to find out it is too late to properly treat them? Will the “Medical Board” then find it is too costly to try and provide for them? Will they be given a “Pain Pill” and sent home?

When you strip out the double-counting and gimmicks that are used to offset the cost, you will see the true 10-year cost of the bill has a $460 billion deficit.
The second 10-year cost of this bill has a $1.4 trillion deficit.

So back to my printer…. The true cost of my printer was much more than the $40.00 price tag that lured me in. What I SHOULD have done was look for a printer then priced the printer cartridges to see if I could find some kind of balance.

We need Health Care Reform!!!!!

But can we afford the current Senate Bill that will cost us down the road??????

Nothing to do with health care, but found this amusing…..

Obama extends the Patriot Act, LOL

Bipartisan Decisions

Watching the healthcare summit I could not believe the posturing by both sides. There were a few good ideas tossed out by both sides. The longer I watched the more I realized that the Democrats were just looking for a few Republican ideas to add. Their mind was made up and this was just the one last token opportunity for the Republicans to jump on board.

When my wife is finished re-decorating a room she always asks, "If I would like to add anything, but it can't clash with what I already have". Which usually means DON'T MESS WITH MY CREATION!!! SO, My contribution is usually my shoes placed neatly in the corner. Afterwards she compliments me on a job ...well done. I think this is the type of bipartisanship that Mr. Obama is looking for. DON'T MESS WITH IT... Put your shoes neatly in the corner and I will pat you on the back and tell everyone how hard we worked on it.

Why are Nancy and the gang acting like children, “We need it NOW”! Is it possible that they have finally recognized that this progressive dream can come true?

They are so scared continuing to hide the facts, the bill, and the cost while pushing forward harder than I have ever seen any politician push.

I am glad the American People put the brakes on this otherwise we would be looking like the Stafford Hospital in England.
